Living Room List

Our living room is finally starting to come together… and while I'm not quite ready to reveal it (since we need to add + finish a few more things), I thought it would be nice to share the basic anatomy of the room. Since we came into a home with next to nothing (living on a boat for 6 years), we knew we needed to decorate affordably because we had to buy EVERYTHING.

We searched all over for pieces that still fit our aesthetic at a cut cost and, of course, continued to DIY. The first thing we researched was a light coloured cowhide area rug. At most places the cost ranged from $650 +, but this light natural cowhide rug from World Market was just right and bonus, on sale!, along with a huge, antique looking wall clock. A regular visit to our neighbouring town in Whistler, we always visit Mountain Home Decor for unique, old and new pieces. There we found an old crate from a Belgium fruit and vegetable shop and a cast iron antler candle holder. And while stumbling into a couple other stores we fell in love with a few accented pieces like this faux fir pillow and an aluminum DC3 plane, which can be found online here.
