Before & After (X2): Garibaldi

Your dreams might be out of reach financially or perhaps you just simply don't want the entire house under renovation? Whatever the reason, doing your construction project in stages might be the way for you. For this family undertaking the kitchen, dining and master bedroom was just enough for them to take on for the time being. Remember this amazing transformation? Well that was just the beginning…

The double garage before was technically a single (left) with unsafe parking or storage (right). They did add the stone work and a few coats of paint to dress it up after the first renovation. A couple years later they were ready to tackle their rapidly growing children's bedrooms - stage two. going up.

Demolition of the old garage did not disrupt the main living space. With a little plastic wrap and tape, the construction was separated while utilizing the formal dining room in the rear of the home to locate the stairs at the end of the central hall. Up the stairs you step into a large central rec. room with two bedrooms and adjoining bathroom. This once 1,100 sq. ft. confined rancher is now a 2,000 sq. ft family home with space, storage (a proper 2-car garage) and privacy for the parents and children. Stay tuned for the home tour.
