Name This | Win That - UPDATE: Contest has Ended

It's that time again for our Name This | Win That contest. Tell us your best names for this western European style home and you may just end up winning something for your home. But before we begin, here is a little information on the home.

This 800 square foot home was inspired by French Second Empire, which was mainly determined by their mansard roofs (a four-sided gambrel-style hip roof punctured by dormers). Meaning the attic space itself, it makes maximum use of the interior space of the attic and offers a simple way to add one or more storeys to a building. Within that space are 2-bedrooms, 1-bathroom and loft with two windows per room to maximize the direction of natural light. Below includes plenty of closed and open storage, guest bedroom, compact kitchen with all the essentials and built-in roll-out prep station, banquet breakfast nook, and open living with exterior covered patio. All that in a 20' x 30' footprint.

UPDATE (7/25/2013) - Contest has ended! Sorry for the delay; Congrats to Nick with the name Olde English 800! I am not a big fan of beer, but absolutely love the name. The fact that the home is 800 square feet and an english style home is what makes this a perfect name. Please email us at hello@puredraft.ca with your mailing address to claim your winnings! Make sure to follow us on Twitter and facebook to hear what other contests are up for grabs.

  1. I would call it "The Bayview" because the main window you view out of is a Bay window and a major feature of the house front Aesthetic.

  4. I would definitely call it a cottage name because its very cozy rural. Maybe something like Hillcrest Cottage or Stonegate Cottage. The Mill House has a good ring to it too.
